Researchers at CARIAD are working on projects that contribute to improving peoples lives and address some of the most significant challenges facing society.
While our projects are diverse they all share a common concern with innovating new technology systems that synthesise theory and applied research across the disciplines of the arts, science and technology.
The scope of issues range from the ‘locked in’ autistic child who encounters difficulties with play and communication, immigrant groups who are displaced and disconnected within communities, video analysis, medical application design, wellbeing, ageing and dementia. Each project has a distinctly playful application, and aims to discover possibilities rather that solve problems.
